Hmm...I did not consider that. You're EXACTLY correct. Rooney Rule is in play. Minimum of two minority and/or women interviews are required except for QB coach which only requires one. AND... Virtual interviews don't count. So regardless of what happens with Vrabel or Harbaugh (or whomever..), They MUST interview at least TWO minority candidates....live and in-person. AND, that can't start until Monday.
Nice catch, First..!!

Yeah, I think some overzealous journalist was trying to jump the crowd on some "might-be news"
HERE'S THE LATEST ON BELICHICK AND THE FALCONS....
After a long few days of meetings and interviews, the appearances seemed to indicate that Atlanta was going "all-in" on Belichick. This has been a "thing" now for the better part of a week. As discussed previously, the Falcons could not commit to Belichick earlier because of the interview requirements imposed by the "Rooney Rule".
AND NOW --- The Rest Of The Story...
Appearances being what they are, and they are never THAT solid, it now appears that the Falcons may be having second thoughts. The latest indications from the favored pundits seem to indicate that the Falcons front office may be at loggerheads with Arthur Blank. Blank has been (apparently) a loud voice for Belichick. The front office is not so sure. And the result is the fervor for hiring BB is diminishing. It might still happen. It very easily COULD happen. But there are still other names out there and the Falcons are apparently NOT ready to commit to Belichick.... YET.

I read somewhere that the dissenting voices are afraid that they will lose their jobs if BB is the choice.

Yep, could happen I guess. Have to wonder though if the FO is just “nervous” about this type of personality. Belichick is one of a kind. He has a habit of saying little or nothing and alienating people (especially reporters). Wouldn’t be my choice as the “face” in front of the cameras. Could easily destroy a lot of good will.
