This is why I’d say no to McMillan!

Hmm... He definitely has talent. But YES, as far as the Panthers are concerned, I'm with you, Josh.  His "study habits", as questionable as they may be, are not the main issue however. It's just not remotely probable .... that the Panthers would draft TWO (2) Wide Receivers in the 1st round in two back to back years.!!  I'll just go out on a limb here, and say... "It ain't happening". ---- UNLESS WR/CB Travis Hunter was somehow available..??? -- I WOULD gladly take Hunter because of his dedication to the game and his fantastic ability to play both sides of the ball.  AND we could definitely use him in the Defensive backfield (and as a receiver too..).

Having said that.... If by some illogical happenstance, the Panthers would trade back a couple of times in the 1st, and end up back say in the late 20s -- maybe 28- 32 somewhere, AND McMillian was still on the board, AND the Panthers had gained a pick closer to the top of the 2nd round, AND no better alternative was on the PANTHER big board, --- Well then, ..... maybe.???

But, just because he's a WR, and has all of the tools, I firmly believe that he will be off of the board mid 1st somewhere (probably #6--#15.??) to a team who really NEEDS a WR. He will be either the 1st or 2nd (pure) WR taken by any team not named Panthers.  (Golden..?? -- NOT including Travis Hunter as a "PURE" WR)

Sorry to not have been in this chat for a while.

I am listening and reading,, that we could be looking at a WR ..
yes the one Josh doesn’t care for.
Neither do I

I truly hope we go defense, best player available ( of course I want Jalon Walker , but should Mason Graham be there, he’d be hard to pass on.. ) I think Walker and Graham will be there. I still want the more versatile Walker .

Next week , we’ll know

Hey there my beach bum friend. Hope you are doing ok.

I would be shocked...let me repeat...... shocked if the Panthers go WR in the 1st. Dan has said multiple times lately that he really likes the WR group and predicts progress/growth from last year.  Dan is a serious purposeful guy. He is going to shore up the D this year in the early rounds and look for gems on either side of the ball in later rounds. I think Dan wants to build a solid foundation on both sides of the ball.  This year is the D's turn.

I think it is reasonable to expect Bryce, XL, and Coker to be better. I also expect (and hope) we see a leap from Sanders at TE.  I also think our RB room is the bomb.

I too like your D picks. All mocks predict Graham to be gone.  Most of them I have seen have Walker still on the board.  The wild card is whether a team wants to trade up to get in front on NO for a QB.

AGREED...

There are lots of reasons for this, but two of the most important are... Dan has indicated on several occasions that he was interested in "Running the ball, and ... Stopping the run". And as you said, he has also indicated that he thought our WR room was on the rise. -- I agree. The second reason I think we do NOT pick WR early is because we went WR in the 1st last year. Can you see Dan picking WR in the 1st in two consecutive years.?? --- I can't.  Now we very easily COULD pick a WR later.... maybe 4th or 5th round..??

Now, I could see us take a TE early (maybe). Or possibly a RB..?? I think our TE room is pretty solid, but one more wouldn't hurt. And our RBs are solid, but there's only two of them. If one goes down, even short term, we'll be hard pressed to give the other one a breather. We need another one and the one we drafted last year is "done and dusted". -- I still am confused by that pick..

Anyway, this is early Thursday morning. We will know one week from today.

Yes ,, beach bum checking in . Lady Panther thanks. I do check in to read .
I am in Cherry Grove ( N Myrtle Bch ) . The last time I was here, during a draft week. 2013 , the Carolina Panthers picked 2 Hog Mollies,, fans were not 100% on board with this. Star Lotulelei, and Kawann Short .. Some call the basis for the Super Bowl run . We’d been 7-9 the year before., 2013! ~12-4 .
We start the run again tonight with. Jalon Walker

I now especially hope that was "Youthful Indiscretion" talking.  Going to the NFL either makes you or breaks you.  Once he's in the environment and realize he isn't on an island by himself, he'll get the picture and the importance of studying film.  Nobody says you have to like it, but you still do it.  I don't like my alarm clock going off at 4:15 a.m. every morning, but guess what, I keep setting it each night and get up the next morning.
