Just a tongue-in-cheek post about things I have heard said by the team yesterday and today.

Coach Rhule says, "We have to play better football.  We need to learn the right lessons".

Matt Paradis says, "We have to execute our techniques".

Morgan Fox says, "We will learn from our mistakes".

And there were so many more canned answers.

I mean, yeah... I understand.  What else CAN they say?

I just need someone to say, "This is unacceptable and we fixed it this morning".

Paradise needs to read the front better pre snap.  Better shifts n whatnot.  He said he’s calling the protections.  Daley n Miller either do better in 1v 1, or help, n edge do ure thing.  Cmc will help all 5 in pass pro.  Not a bad oline, just bad in certain situations.  1 v 1 against elite tackles 1.

I don't disagree with Rhule trying to revamp the Defense, but he has done little to nothing about our Offense.  I don't care who you put under center, if they don't have time to blink before getting sacked, you cannot expect to win games in the NFL.

And Paradis *might* make a solid backup on most teams, but he should never be a starting center in the NFL.

I’m pleased with moton. Daily n Miller are ok. Irving is serviceable. Deonte brown Brady fit?
Elfline to c? He’s small for a g. Brown, daily, n Miller are not. Brady at t. Legit ?’s. Paradise has not impressed calling the fronts.

Only moves we have at ol, most glaring seems in the interior. Moton, Irving, n Brady seem above par at least. Moton is good. Gotta shore up the middle. Personally (on the roster) or scheme.

Who steps up?

It's been a while. but I guess I'll add a little something here.
All of us want to find fault....particularly with our O-line. SURE, it would be great if the QB had 6-7-8 seconds on every pass call to sort out routes and coverages. Unfortunately, that is NOT realistic. I would encourage everyone to step back and take a long look at the plays that end up 'busted'. A LOT of them are the result of the QB holding the ball too long. For the Panthers, RECENTLY, there has been an increased emphasis on "taking shots" deep. Nothing wrong with that once in a while, but too much emphasis forces the QB to hold the ball waiting for the routes (receivers..) to develop.
I know, I know..... everyone wants EXCITEMENT.  But I will take "effective" any day over long "prayers".

As a matter of interest, next time you see Brady or one of the other really high end QBs on the field..... Watch, time, or count from the moment of snap to when the QB releases the ball....DON'T GUESS. You will find the best and most effective QBs get rid of the ball in 3 seconds or less.. Anything longer than that the play has a much higher potential for failure...... The Panthers take too long waiting for plays to 'develop'. Don't blame the O-line or protection schemes when the QB still has the ball 4, 5, 6 seconds after the snap. I have timed them with a stop watch. 3 seconds is about the limit for reliable success. Longer than that is really asking for trouble.

You are correct, Hobbit. Drew Brees was one of the best. He rarely held onto the ball for more than a second or two after it was in his hands.

Sam may have been bad the last 3 weeks. Has he not brought us back the last 2 weeks in the 4th? Know it’s easy to bash him, but 5 outta 6 games he gave us a chance. Yes he underperformed 3 weeks in a row. Still gave us a chance 2 of those weeks. I’ll take it right now. A winning drive>a great game, like Delhome. Worth a 2nd round pick? Let’s finish the season. Would u rather have teddy two gloves? Denver’s wondering. I’m ok for now.

I’m not giving Sam a pass, I’m just saying we are in games we weren’t last year at the end.

JMHO, seriously.

Not disregarding ure thoughts hobbit. Just a thought.

We gotta remember, the last half of starting qbs are up n (mostly) down. We have one right now.

Sam is going to be fine. He has a good head on his shoulders. With the right play calls and the emphasis on quick hitting and quick developing pass plays.... along with a strong, dynamic running game. we should be just fine. We won't win all of our games, but we aren't supposed to.!! We will get better. Count on it.!!
