It’s bitter sweet, we knew it was coming, but I hate that it’s “our Panthers” still.

That being said, I’d much rather rip off this bandaid than painstakingly go about the season with the status quo as it was.

Well, it's official.....

The Panthers have parted ways with HC Matt Rhule.  He finished up his tenure with the Panthers with a 11-27 record over 2 1/2 years (approx.). This is roughly a .289 win percentage.  Rhule was well liked by the players, but apparently did not have "The Right Stuff" to make serious inroads in the NFL.

The Panthers have appointed Steve Wilks as interim HC for now.  The process for locating and hiring the next Christian to be fed to the lions takes off now.  No indication what kind of a time frame is contemplated.

Well..... For the record.....

I will admit that this caught me a little off guard. I have said a couple of times that I thought Rhule would last through the year. My reasoning was that I 'thought' Rhule and Tepper had a 'handshake' deal that would keep him here for this year.  THAT plus Rhule's "guaranteed" contract cemented my opinion.  So, for my limited vision ----- The forest was obscured by the trees.

Sooo..... This is me saying I was wrong.  (Again..??). Not sure what I was 'seeing' in this deal, but I guess I need to get some new glasses.  Tepper obviously was less enamored with Rhule than he appeared.

Good for us, I guess.

Just listened to the Tepper presser. Hmm

If I was the GM, I think I would be looking for real estate agents. Was it me or was not completely left out of ANY decision.

Hard to tell what exactly happened behind the scene.  I think the decision on Rhule was Tepper's decision only. Since Rhule had final authority over the roster and players and coaches...... There was no real reason to get Fitterer involved.  (I guess...??).

But he clearly said that the other two was on Wilks. And he never even mentioned that he had a GM (or I missed it)
Glad we have music in Charlotte though.

uh yeah, I got that vibe, too.  "I'm talking about what has happened today.  Scott is still an employee of the Carolina Panthers".

Well, so was Matt Rhule, Ed Foley, and Phil Snow early this morning.

Just finished it. Did say a coach usually gets to pick their own staff for what it’s worth. Mentioned Fitterer a few times when questioned. Also said the coach n GM need to work together, I forget how he said it, in concert. Equal. Something.

Anybody else think his head was gonna explode when he heard “Rock Hill”? Hehe! Trying to find the fun in it all.

I do this with life. I’m sure all u vets will know this line, “Embrace the suck.”
