I’m afraid that bullshit we did last year sucked the life out of him.

I was just coming over to post it. I am so sad but can't say that I blame him. THANK YOU LUKE FOR ALL YOU DID AND ALL THAT YOU GAVE FOR THE TEAM!
-Of course, no blame..... Still. I have to wonder. Why now.?? What precipitated this.? 'ONLY' 8 years into a remarkable career.. The Panthers without Luke is like a day without sunshine.***REALLY*** I feel sick right now.....
Still floored. Hire that man as a ilb coach right now. No interview needed, any team. Best mlb ever. Hope the shortness of his career doesn't sway the HOF to pass on him first year. He was a pleasure to watch. Hope he has success in his next career! He was the most prepared signal caller on d for 3/4 a decade. Close if not equal to Peyton on o. Biased, but I say better. Hail Luke, we got a rebuild going on. Think Shaq or one of the other three is the answer? Smith, sneeze, n 1 more.

Wow. My heart is sad. But watching his video announcement I think it has to be health concerns. How many concussions has he had in recent seasons. You have to know when to hold 'em and know when to fold 'em.
THANK YOU LUKE!

I got the impression that Luke was worried about health issues. Multiple concussions are nothing to make light of. It's probably the best thing for him to do, but it doesn't make it any easier.
I hate this. Probably never have another ILB like Luke. Impossible to replicate what he was and what he did.
Jermaine Carter is not the solution.... too many needs in the draft, LB, DB, Safety, DL, OL, C .... this rebuild could take 5 or 6 years instead of just 3 as I originally thought. Heck, we might become Cleveland South.

IMO, Luke would be an excellent LB coach, right here, right now, today. And not only that it would be such a positive e public relations move for Tepper. Not sure I can remember, ever, a player retiring and coaching for that same team in his retirement year. Certainly not at Luke age. In fact I would hire him as LB/assistant head coach today!
