IT'S OFFICIAL..

Robbie Anderson has apparently worn out his welcome in Carolina.  Not sure all of the details yet.  Announced today, Robbie Anderson has been traded to the Cardinals. There is supposedly some "Draft Compensation" coming to the Panthers, but very little more information is available at this time.
The trade deal is of course dependent upon passing a "physical" in Arizona.

PANTHERS.COM:  Anderson Traded To The Cardinals

CAT SCRATCH READER:  Panthers Trade Anderson to Arizona

PANTHERS WIRE:  Trade Alert--Anderson To Arizona

More information will undoubtedly become available as Press Conferences develop today and tomorrow.

A quick look back shows that last year the Panthers extended Anderson for two years through 2023. The extension was for 29.5 million of which 20.5 million was guaranteed. Not sure how that was divided up, but there will probably be a 'dead cap' hit through next year, unless the Cardinals picked up the contract. HIGHLY unlikely.....

According to ESPN. 6th in 2024 and 7th in 2025…: horrible deal for us. He needed to be gone no doubt, sit on the bench and you get a 3rd and 5 or 6th when someone gets hurt this week or next. We moved too fast with little thought process.

Panthers.com says it’s a 2024 6th and 2025 7th, so basically gave him away.

Yep. I know it was a bad situation but that is very little in return. Too quick to get it done, had plenty of time. Just not a good move in my opinion

If the early reports are correct..... a 6th in 2024 and a 7th in 2025..... This is a TERRIBLE deal for us. If we have to pay him, why GIVE him to another team.??  He's worth more than that to us, even if we don't play him at all.  A 6th and a 7th a couple of years from now.....That's essentially nothing. 6th and 7th rounders are a dime a dozen. A lot of them never play a single snap in the league.

If we have to pay this guy, then "sit him" and keep him handy in case of injury or whatever. At least he would have SOME value.  This deal is like having a bunch of extra furniture and instead of selling it to someone, you give it away and then PAY THEM to come get it.  Fbmad

OTOH.... WE don't know what happened in the locker room and in team meetings after the game......and for the past weeks since the start of the season.  We know Anderson was another of Rhule's players from Temple.  It might be that this move was deemed necessary because of locker room friction or scuffles. Just to keep the peace..???
Huh

We should just scrap the whole place and start a new franchise. Can we do that? And can we get the Big Cat back? (I miss you, Jerry!)
