Thomas Davis discusses with the crew of NFL Network, that "based on the information he has" of who "the Panthers are in love with", it is going to be a surprising pick (Not CJ Stroud or Bryce Young), and TD follows it up by saying, "IF they make that pick, I'm not a fan of his".

So.  Thoughts?

Richardson or Levis?

I love TD..... But I think he's wrong. AR is NOT the pick (I hope...). You don't trade up to #1, give up the draft capital and a player, to draft a guy that you could have picked at #9 (probably) or lower (maybe..). That move would make no sense to me.  I know everybody is jumping on the AR "hype" train, but he is just NOT ready.  He is going to find out that the "pro" game is not the same as one year in the college ranks.

IMHO...

That's exactly my take on it

I look at it like this….. IF the Panthers truly believed in all four of the top QBs, and had “confidence” in them like everyone is saying….. There was no reason to go up to #1. They could have moved up to #5 and still had one or two to pick from. We know the Bears at #1 and Arizona at #3 and Seattle at #5 would NOT be taking QBs (probably). So why waste all the capital to get to #1 ???

Only reason would be because you wanted 1 of 2 possibilities (maybe). Didn’t want to risk losing the one guy you really wanted.

The Panthers have their eyes on one guy. Count on it. Of course…. It COULD change..??

To be fair, I watched the video segment on this he did say “if it is, I don’t like the pick”

Basically, he’s saying people are enamored with him, but TD does not like the AR pick. Paraphrasing, he says he’s not ready for that seat yet. Says Stroud/Young are better options.
