The Panthers Kicker has been a giant question mark (??) since losing Graham Gano at the end of 2018 to an injury to his "plant" leg. Gano was followed by a plethora of Kickers including Chandler Catanzaro, Joey Slye, and Ryan Santoso, before settling on Zane Gonzales who did a good job until an injury forced him out at the end of 2021. That injury was followed by another injury of the same type (Quad...) at the beginning of 2022. This opened the door for Eddie Pineiro last year. Pineiro did a fine job, finishing the year as the #2 Kicker in the league percentage-wise.
Now at the start of the "season" for 2023, the Panthers will decide whether Pineiro or Gonzales will handle the kicking chores.

Now, it looks like K Eddie Pineiro may get the nod this year after a superlative effort in 2022. Both Kickers are now under contract as Eddie Pineiro was signed back from FA today. Most comments seem to think that Gonzales will be cut.
