We have to ask ourselves one question; Who do we need to replace more, a quarterback who is dynamic when healthy and is still here, or a linebacker who has retired and left a huge vacancy?

After watching more and more of Isaiah Simmons, the freakish Linebacker/Safety hybrid out of Clemson, I am more to believe he's the first pick of the draft "IF" he is still there when we pick at #7.

Or... do we trade up?

Simmons looks really good, and will definitely go pretty high. But, we definitely should NOT trade up for Simmons. The cost to move up in the first would then place a "value" of a 1st AND a 2nd on one player..... a LB. (Maybe a 1st and a 3rd..??). The only reason to trade up from where we are is for a QB..... IMHO....

OTOH... If he is still on the board when we pick, then you definitely have to consider him. 1st round pick is going to depend on what Rhule wants to do. How he wants to position the team coming out of FA.....

I have seen a couple of Mocks where they speculated the Panthers would trade up out of the 2nd round with the Patriots to get back into the late first round for a 2nd pick, and take QB Jordan Love. That dude has a seriously HUGE cannon of an arm.

I would highly doubt we would trade up to get Simmons, but I could see us trading up to get Burrows. I would highly doubt we would trade up to get Tua. He is really good, but not "that" good.
