I'll start this one.....

Panthers have signed DE Chris Smith. Last with the Browns, he took about 6 games off last year when his girlfriend/fiancee was killed in a traffic accident. Released in December, so OK to sign now.

Here's the story:

1 year deal but I hope he finds a good home here with the Panthers. Welcome aboard Chris Smith (and Welcome back home)

I just have a strange, strange feeling that Kyle Allen is going to be a great quarterback somewhere. Maybe not here, but somewhere. I wish it were here, because when he is good, he is VERY good. And, this season can be considered his rookie season for all intents and purposes.

Glad we re-signed Obada, the dude has proven himself and worked his ass off.

Bonnafon is a talented guy,too.

Cole Luke as been good in spots.

I really want to like Joey Slye, and I have to hand it to him, had I screwed up my job the way he did a few times, I wouldn't want to show my face again, yet he did. And it worked out for him.

Agreed.....with almost everything. Almost...SMH.  Kyle Allen is a real quandary to me.  Can't consider him a rookie..!! Not sure why you said that, but....
Kyle played some in 2018, and most of 2019. Definitely long past rookie jitters and status...IMHO.  I just look at things like:

In two games in 2018 .... 20-31, 266 yds, 64.5%, 2 TD, 0 Int,  113.1 Rating
In 2019 = 13 games, 303-489, 3322 yds, 61.9%, 17 TD,  16 Int, 13 Fumbles,  80 Rating

His accuracy last year is just barely OK (Its really on the low end..). The TD to Int. ratio is terrible. And the fumbles..??  Well, .....  You could be right about his future, but right now he's looking like a weaker Jamieus Winston.

Did you know that Joey Slye led the league in kicks made over 50 yds.??  I did not know that.!!

Kyle Allen - The reason I said that is because he played what, two games in 2018, when the season was already over for us, and then came in as the starter in Game Three of 2019.

Yeah, Joey Slye has a huge leg on him, but it's those "awschitts" misses that soured me on him. And, in all fairness, if your team is having to try for field goals from greater than 50 yards, your teams has more problems than the kicker. A good team would at least get him to the 30-yard line or further.

Yeah, I like Kyle Allen and agree at times he looked great, until the fumbles started. Then I think other defenses keyed in on that aspect every game to try and get into his head. Obviously the new staff see's something they think they can work with.

OK...

We're adding another WR to the roster. Enter Pharoh Cooper. Cooper played last year with the Cardinals. Drafted in 2016 by the Rams. Pro Bowl and All-Pro in 2017. Tremendous kick returner.  Coming home to Carolina.......  One (1) year contract.

Lets add Tre Boston to this list too, Resigned to three (3) year contract.

XFL just officially canceled their season allowing players to sign with NFL teams. Panthers will probably stock up like Walmart and toilet paper.
