Don't take the Panthers job says Peter King

This franchise is an absolute mess.  As a fan from the beginning, it saddens me to say that. It seems like just yesterday that I was at the NFC championship game in Charlotte.  How far the organization has fallen since then.

Tepper, now the joke of the NFL...and solidly holding the title of worst owner since Snyder is gone, will have a very hard time attracting a good HC (as if he could identify one anyway). Easy to pile on...Peter King is saying this:


 One: An owner who actively engages with multiple employees in opposition to what the head coach is doing is a big part of the problem. It’s not the owner’s job to encourage employees to undercut the coach. It’s reprehensible that the owner would engage in or encourage that.

 Two: That franchise is a mess.


I think there should be blinking lights to warn every coach who interviews for this Carolina head-coaching job: Beware. If you trust yourself, and if you trust that some other trustworthy, smart owner—unlike what there is in Charlotte—will want you one of these days, just walk on by. Wait.

This season has seriously made me consider to stop watching football all together. The trade for Bryce, the CMC trade, the constant coaching changes all of it just sickens me. I know I can be a negative Nancy about these things, but i feel like there’s nothing to look forward to. There’s no identity, there’s no heart, there’s no willingness in our team anymore. Brian Burns will not be a panther next year, Shaq Thompson MIGHT be, Luvu will be gone, we have no Oline, no real LB corps, our CBs are softer than charmin, our WR’s are practice squad material. It just sucks. I’m honestly not mad anymore about this team, I’m more apathetic. Pretty much, I.. JUST.. DONT.. CARE.

And how or why should I? The organization has been ran into the ground, what hope has this franchise given? I hate being a bandwagon fan, never wanted to be one, but there is more exciting football played elsewhere, and I love that.
