GM -- TRACKING THE CANDIDATES

As indicated on the Panthers.com website, the Panthers have started the search for the new GM. There have been three candidates 'announced' but none have scheduled interviews yet.
The three candidates are:


Brandon Brown   (NY Giants)




Mike Greenberg   (Tampa Bay Bucs)




Brandt Tilis   (KC Chiefs)



No word on interviews yet, but there are no rules preventing interviews at any time (end of regular season).  There will probably be a long(er) list of candidates to come.

Yeah, Peters is pretty popular. Wonder why he's missing here.?? Word on the street is Peters has several teams "looking"  already...  Also missing here is Panthers Asst. Dan Morgan. Conspicuous by his absence, I would say... Especially considering his history with the team..

I read yesterday that a couple of these guys were "CAP" specialist or contract negotiators.. So if Khai Harley is responsible for keeping the Saints under the cap all these years,, We know he's good for something lol.. I'll I've ever heard was "one day all of the contracts the Saints are doing will come home to roost ,, It hasn't happened yet.
I'm sure they have other good qualifications too ,, other than finance .

I wish we'd see Dan Morgans name too. I think he's interim GM ? But because he is one of us, doesn't make him the best qualified. The last 6 years, We are near rock bottom. We need to hit on this GM and Coach bad,

You're right LP. No worries with tampering or seeking "permission" to interview. I just think it's a little strange that he isn't on this list. "Conspicuous by his absence" is, I think, what I said....or at least what I meant to say.  But, you're also right about the list in general. I think this list may just be a starting point.  I wouldn't be surprised if some of these guys have "other" jobs already lined up with their agents. Some of them may not be interested in changing or moving. Others may not be interested in the Panthers...

I would expect to see other names added to the list -- possibly.??

Today, the Panthers have announced a ninth candidate for GM.  The Panthers have added Mike Disner to the list.  Disner is the COO (Chief Operating Officer) for the Detroit Lions. He appears to be the highest ranking candidate on the list. Lots of business and football experience as well as experience in the NFL league office.

WORD FROM THE PANTHERS...

The Panthers announced today the addition of two "internal" candidates for GM to the list of ten (NINE..??) already announced.  So, Dan Morgan will be interviewed, as he should be. In addition, Samir Suleiman, VP of Football Administration, will be interviewed for the position as well. 

And then there were twelve (OR eleven - depending on when and where you learned to count..).

JUST ANNOUNCED...

Adam Peters has been hired as GM for the Washington Commanders.  There is some scuttlebutt around that Ben Johnson may follow him there.
There is no (known) working link between the two, but Johnson has been mentioned in the same breath with Peters many times. There non-link may be the strongest "link" of a pair in this cycle.
