Yeah I'm a homer, but this kid is a MUCH better DB than Jaycee Horn is at CB.    He'll definitely be a steal for whomever takes him.

CLICK ON "WATCH ON YOUTUBE"  -  Google is blocking linked videos for whatever reason.

PLUS.... He's a fun character, and you can understand what he is saying lol

No doubt that he is a solid prospect. Where he lands will depend on the fortunes of the Draft gods.  It's WAY too early to forecast how these things will shake out, as there is just too much information yet to be uncovered. Lots of work yet, and lots of interviews, people to talk to, etc., etc.... He  is a big, powerful dude for sure. And pretty fast as well.

I'm following six Big Boards that are all pretty reputable.  Right now --- Emmanwori is definitely a Top-10 Defensive back. He is probably a Top-5 Safety (maybe Top-3 ). His average overall draft position is somewhere between the bottom third of the 1st round and the top third of the 2nd round. I've seen him as high as #24 overall and as low as #42 overall.  AND, of course, there are the occasional outliers that have him higher and lower, but not as a consensus...

So definitely a solid prospect, but not at #8 ... at least not right now. These boards move around with players sliding downward and others rising as more information becomes available and players talk to scouts, and scouts talk to coaches, etc., etc.

I'm thinking if he falls late in the 2nd round (or even 3rd ???), he'd be a huge steal. I'd put money on it that he's gone by the time we pick in the 2nd round. If not, we should pull the trigger unless there's a better (and needed) prospect available at that point.

To be honest, think Thomas Davis. He'll probably play Linebacker in the NFL. That was his natural position.

Great prospect. I think he ends up getting picked in the 1st.

Hey brother...

Glad to have you onboard here on the forum. You'll find the folks here are pretty knowledgeable about NFL football, especially the Panthers. Some college fanboys and girls here too. If you continue to participate, I think you will enjoy the overall feel of the forum.

About Emmanwori ... I think you're right about the talent. AND, he indeed might get selected in the 1st. It's just that the Panthers pick at #8 (right now) and that's too high for this guy -- IMHO.  I think he goes late 1st or 2nd somewhere. Not that he doesn't deserve being picked earlier, it's just a fact that DBs don't get picked as early as other positions (historically).

Again, WELCOME.!!

Emmanwori is the perfect example a player who will benefit greatly from the Combine experience. All of his measurables (so far) have been quite nice. and a bit surprising as well.  His 40 time was very nice indeed but his vertical was EXCEPTIONAL. In any event, I don't think he will make it out of the 1st round. Maybe late 1st or early 2nd.

As far as position is concerned, I think he is perfectly slotted at Safety. Big and strong enough to play Strong (in the box) and plenty of speed to play Free as well. Otherwise, as an ILB - hmm... strong enough and definitely fast enough, but definitely on the small side for a LB.  Better to keep him at his natural position, probably Strong Safety. Would be a dominant guy in our run Defense.

Unless we trade back quite aways, I don't think we have a chance to get him.

Yeah, I agree Hobbit. The Homer in me is just enjoying seeing this kid evolve over the entire process. He was so good at South Carolina and to see him have success at the NFL Combine is rewarding for me in itself. I know we probably won't get him, but I'm happy for him and look forward to seeing him play at the next level.

And that being said, Kyle Kennard is also have a very solid combine. Another excellent player from South Carolina.
