As produced for 99.9 "The Fan"

Interesting discussion here about the Panthers team 'play' in 2023. Where is the strength?  And what is the "weak link"??  Nothing really new here, but still an interesting bit of commentary as it applies to the Panthers.  The general concept presented states that the Panthers Defense could easily be the "weak link" this year. Discusses how 'strange' that would seem because the Panthers are (historically) considered to be a "Defense First" team.  Everything based on player "availability" as the season progresses and a seemingly deficient core of backup players.

Yes. ....yes he is.  Good thing he doesn't play on Defense. Panthers would be a the very bottom of this scenario....

Did want to start a new thread. I noticed this during our defense. Maybe we are massive?

We are not stacked, but our depth should improve on d (I mean we have 89-90 people). I like our draft class a lot. We have a few superheroes on d. IF we can get n stay healthy I like our defense. I will b watching the 3 down d line. Also I expect the 2nd round mlb (Smith) n Barno to develop.

Interesting point here..... You mentioned Smith and Barno.  I find it strange that so much commentary has gone into our Defense with so VERY little talking about those two.  The way I remember it, Smith was really starting to show up last year close to the end.  Barno played a role at times as well.  Smith is stout and should make an impact at LB, probably inside. I fully expect him to make a difference, if not early this year, then late or next year for sure.  Barno is big and f a s t. Looks tailor-made as an OLB in this defense. If he continues to progress, he will be a good one.

I don't mind that no one seems to notice them right now.  As long as WE know...
