I was afraid that was coming.

Panthers Announce Unfortunate Decision On Jaycee Horn (msn.com)

For the third season in a row, Panthers cornerback Jaycee Horn will miss an extended period of time due to injury.

Horn suffered a hamstring injury during last weekend's divisional clash with the Falcons.

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Panthers will place Horn on injured reserve. That means he'll miss at least four games.

The good news, however, is that Horn is expected to return at some point this season.

"But the injury is not considered season-ending," Rapoport wrote on social media. "Horn should be on the field at some point in the second half of the season – which would be a great outcome."

Earlier this week, Panthers head coach Frank Reich told reporters that Horn's hamstring injury would keep him out for a while.

“It’s just one of those freak things,” Reich said. “It’s just one of those freak injuries. You just never know. You just never know. And he knew right away. I could tell as soon as I got out there. He kinda felt it pop.”

Horn, the No. 8 pick from the 2021 NFL Draft, has already sustained injuries to his foot and wrist thus far in his young career.

We're wishing Horn a full and speedy recovery from his latest ailment.

CHARLOTTE — The Panthers placed cornerback Jaycee Horn on injured reserve Friday afternoon, starting the clock for him to return to play.

Horn will now miss at least the next four weeks but is eligible to return at any point after that.

The third-year cornerback suffered the injury in the first half against the Falcons and did not return.

Head coach Frank Reich said this week that Horn would miss "an extended period of time."

Without him, the Panthers will continue to reply on starter Donte Jackson, along with CJ Henderson, Troy Hill, D'Shawn Jamison, and newcomer Sam Webb.
