This trade leaves the Panthers with Bridgewater, PJ Walker, and Will Grier....
In return we get a 5th round pick..... Well, better than nothing.

My first reaction is that the Panthers will regret this move. After a few minutes I came around to, "What the heck, make it a clean sweep". Keep moving forward.

I guess getting another 5th round pick isn't bad in trade for a guy who was undrafted.  That could be used in combination with something else to get a better deal.

I think that is the correct way to look at it. A UDFA traded up to a 5th rounder. Not a bad deal..... I liked Kyle too, but I don't think he ever becomes a true starter. Too many INTs and too many Fumbles. Trends up then trends down. A roller coaster. Good backup maybe, but.....

We're not getting anything for Newton, and he'll be laughing when he leaves because we will still have to pay him a mint and get nothing in exchange for it.

Or, the organization could decide to be asses and let him ride the pine until he is cleared to play.

WELL......
Guess, this has been decided.....

I can't see Newton "laughing" about anything. He's gonna have to prove himself, wherever he ends up. I'll be happy to get out from under that DOG of a contract, whenever it happens.!!  Not like he's a Drew Brees or a Tom Brady. Not too many Prima Donnas in the NFL....BUT,  Cam is at the forefront.  He does Prima Donna better than anyone else I know....
