Deutschland – Sind Sie bereit für etwas American Football?

ROAD TRIP:  PANTHERS HOME GAME IN GERMANY

Who wants to go to Munchen (Munich) ??!!??!!

I know there are some folks here who are bold enough to travel.!!  I used to live 'over there'. Not in Munchen, in Mainz-Gonsenheim.  007 was there too. I assume BCF was as well. Maybe some others.....

Munchen, especially around Oktoberfest, is a happenin' place.!  So, break out your lederhosen (and your beer steins) and let's party to the sound of the Panthers whoopin' ass in Deutschland.!!

I would go in a heartbeat if I could.  However, not something I can afford. (Unless a winning lottery ticket is in my future...lol)  I am sure those who go will have a great time.

I’m thinking seriously about it….. Sort of difficult this early in the planning cycle to commit to it. A lot depends on the date. Not sure number of days involved either. The Panthers have a “process” underway that handles most of the planning. It would make it easier for certain. Flights, hotels, tickets, maybe transportation as well. Local activities maybe. Parties, celebrations, etc., etc.
Will still take some planning though.

Yep, I was there, and I also graduated from the Seventh Army NCO Academy in Bad Toelz (Bavaria) Germany.

I will be in Munich area Oct 5th .. ( Salzburg actually, 1:30 min from Munich by rail ) If I remember correctly Oktoberfest will still be going on that week. It's usually over by October. That's the reason I'm staying In Salzburg. Prices during Oktoberfest are crazy expensive. $250 rooms can be $700 per night. So I don't think the game will be there when I am.

This would be a perfect excuse for you.... Grab Mom and Dad and head over for a few days and watch the game. Meet the relatives. Practice your German. You know... Do the family thing...

Octoberfest always ends on the first Sunday in October (IIRC). This year that is the 6th. I believe it begins around the third week of September. Somewhere around the 20th - 23rd... somewhere in there.  Of course, I could be wrong....  And YES, I assume the league wouldn't schedule a game in the Munchen stadium (Allianz Arena) during Oktoberfest. Munich (Munchen) also has a football club (soccer to us..) that plays in the Allianz Arena. I think they're called Munich FC .... or maybe it's Bayern FC.  Anyway they played in B of A last year I think.

Hmmm... I am wrong, I guess.  I looked and couldn't find a record of Munich playing in Charlotte last year. They apparently played an "international" game of some sort in Charlotte (B of A) back in 2016-2017...??  I was pretty sure they were here last year though..
I guess not...
