Will miss at least the next four games.  And has ANY Panthers Head Coach used the Practice Squad in such a manner as Dave Canales?  He seems to use it like having cards up his sleeve and Aces in the hole. lol

CHARLOTTE — The Panthers placed running back Miles Sanders on injured reserve Saturday, which will keep him out for at least the next four weeks.

Sanders was injured in the second quarter of the pre-bye game in Germany, and he did not practice this week, and was already ruled out for Sunday's game against the Chiefs.

The 27-year-old Sanders had 38 carries for 139 yards and a touchdown this season, with the score coming in the Week 3 win at Las Vegas.

To fill his roster spot, the Panthers signed wide receiver Deven Thompkins to the active roster.

Thompkins had been elevated from the practice squad the last two weeks to provide depth at receiver, with Adam Thielen out with a hamstring injury. Thielen is expected to return to the field for Sunday's game.

Also Saturday, the Panthers promoted wide receiver Dan Chisena and outside linebacker Kenny Dyson from the practice squad for the week by standard elevation. It's the first of a maximum of three elevations for each of them.

The Panthers also downgraded outside linebacker Amaré Barno from doubtful to out this week. He just completed the first week of practice in his three-week window to return after tearing his ACL last year on Christmas Eve.

So you’re saying, we might see Jonathan Brooks ,, not only with a helmet on the sideline , but he might even play ??

After watching some of J Brooks highlights from Texas,, it looks like if he ever hits the clean hole, no one will catch him.
I’ve see Chubba hit that type of hole and gain 20 , 30, 40 yards…. AND THAT’S GREAT, but maybe Brooks can break one .
Ok , he might not get but 5- 7 carries.

Interesting, what you observed. Hubbard was described as smooth runner with above average speed. Hubbard and Brooks are just about carbon copies of each other (physical - size wise..).

Hubbard = 6'0'' -- 210-215 depending on when you measured/weighed him.
Brooks = 6'0" -- 210-215  draft profile numbers.

So they're almost identical...

Brooks MIGHT have a TINY advantage on speed (maybe.??)

Hubbard = 4.51 -- 40 yd time
Brooks = 4.45 -- 40 yd time (unofficial --- obviously he was injured at combine and draft time..)

So, about 6 hundredths of a second difference (.06) --- about two shoelaces difference, if you can believe the "guesstimate" on Brooks.

Of course, the 'unknowns' are critical. Brooks MAY be a more mobile runner. Maybe a more 'twitchy' style.  Hubbard's style is more 'straight-line' with breakaway speed.  It would be really interesting to see them face off against each other for about 6o yards or so after running through a couple of obstacle cuts. Brooks might have the advantage if he's quicker in and out of his cuts...
Huh

I was glad to see Brooks getting some time on the field yesterday. It's a process (both mentally and physically) coming back from any kind of injury, especially a knee injury requiring surgery. For me, it was too early to tell if he knows he is back 100 percent or not, he played "conservatively" yesterday, which is what I expected. It will likely take him several games to get his confidence back (regardless of what he says to the media), because pain leaves a clear and lasting injury that your mind doesn't want you to repeat.

That said, once Brooks gets "Back" to his old self that he was in college, the combination of him and Chuba will be a thing of beauty.
