Got to give him some credit.  This was a good day.

I an still in awe of one of the throws he made with a defender coming right at him....he new he was getting creamed....with that guy right at him he threw a strike (not sure who the receiver was).  Bryce was so cool....was smiling while still on the ground.

Bryce ran and took some hits.  He is a tough little dude.

Made some impressive throws today.

Another year with Canales....he should get better.  Assume we will be focused on the D in free agency and the draft.  Things looking up.

I will admit that BY surprised me today. He looked like he wasn't at all worried most of the time. His couple of runs showed he had some moxie also. Not sure that he was really smart with the runs, but they 'worked', and that is how he will be judged. So, overall, it was a good day for Bryce. His passing accuracy (completion percentage.) was up around 65% which is a marked improvement.

Overall, I am still concerned about Bryce. If I am being completely honest, it is mostly related to his size and his ability to absorb Defensive punishment. There are many 'smaller' QBs who started out in this league and melted away because of the size disparity. I'm just now thinking about Tua Tagovailoa (sp.??). Tua didn't really start to show up until late in his 2nd year and then improved a lot in year three. A couple of years later he is knocking on the door of the hospital with every game he plays.
Bryce Young is sort of following the same ladder of advancement. Given that Tua, although small, is still quite a bit larger than Bryce, you have to wonder if Bryce can take the punishment and continue to advance.

Only time will tell I guess. But, for now, BY is definitely playing better and starting to look like he belongs.  Surprised.??  Yes, I am. I will admit to being pleasantly surprised. My original impression might very easily be wrong.

If he continues to play well, we'll see how he looks after a couple of intensive years.  I'm afraid that if he does too much the OPFOR will start "keying" on him. That could be catastrophic...

It was an overall good day, but like I said, I saw a couple of boneheaded decisions by him. When we were third and two, he had a hole you could have driven a tank thru for Bryce to rush and get the 1st down, but he chose to throw the ball away. Then after the two minute warning, he rushed his pass to the receiver and it hit the ground at his feet. If he had made that first down, we could have run out the clock. But yeah, overall a good game for him. I've seen a lot worse.

Hopefully watching the tape over will help him learn from these little things and he will continue to improve.
