Panthers Week 17 roster moves

- Placed RB Chuba Hubbard on injured resrve

- Placed CB Chau Smith-Wade on injured reserve

- Signed QB Jack Plummer off practice squad

- Signed RB Mike Boone off practice squad

- Elevanted DT DeShawn Williams from practice squad

Mike Boone will be taking Hubbard's place on the roster and he is also expected to start at running back with Raheem Blackshear acting as primary backup. Boone played his college ball at Cincinnati and then went undrafted. He spent three years with the Minnesota Vikings, two with the Denver Broncos and one with the Houston Texans before joining Carolina this year. Boone has appeared in four games but only has seven carries for 22 yards.

Panthers are 10 point dogs..  Hope the Bucs think they have this one locked up..

Panthers defense has not scored yet this year.  Would love to see that change this week.

SOMETHING smells here.  

Too many guys out all of the sudden. IR  little nicks, bumps, bruises. Why move Plummer to the 53.??  Why are Moton and Jewell inactive.? WHAT is going on here.??


I don't want to think that the Panthers would intentionally "throw" a game, ..... But, they might shut the team down to play a bunch of PS guys and 3-4 string players..???  THIS is a very bad look for the Panthers.....

I was asking the same thing about Plummer.  Why activate him AND have positions of need that we needed filled so badly today?

But, if we are looking forward to the Draft, how better to evaluate what we have NOW so that we can make a more informed decision over the next four months?

RBs?  Nope, we need some.  QB?  We need a solid backup.  Secondary?  Entire draft could be used and still not fixed.

Ok,, yesterdays game. We didn't know our own players on defense on many plays..
On offense , the Bucs blitzed often,, 6 sacks ? numerous other plays where Bryce was hit hard as he threw it or he was running for his life. It could have been worse.
We shouldn't expect for a 120 lb running back to pick up all those blitz.. I exaggerate their weight but our running backs, yesterday were small and not talented . Why didn't they put a Tight End back in the back field just to block,, Ok, 2Tight ends..
Isn't there plays to challenge the blitzes ??

Addlanta will be blitzing every play this coming week ,, Miles Sanders will be available to run, but I'm not expecting much.

Unless we scheme differently against the blitz ,, I wouldn't start Bryce. Let Plummer play. I want to win every game.. Never tank for a draft pick... but what happened last week was not fair to any QB ..

Our starters aren't great,, but they are better than who played last week.

What did y'all see ? did we make adjustments and I'm not bright enough to see them ( this could be the truth, I'm no football whiz ..
