Can you say Sam Darnold.

Just a thought.  A cheap thought at that for a team in rebuilding mode.

I have thought about that, but I just don't see him as much of an improvement over Bridgewater. Just my opinion, and in all fairness, I haven't watched Darnold play much, so I'm no expert on the subject.

He might be worth a third and fifth round pick, but I certainly don't want to give up McCaffrey OR our first round draft pick.

I know "we" have nothing to do with rather someone is signed, traded, drafted, etc, but we fans do love to speculate.  It's what we do.

So, after going over and looking at some of Darnold's highlights, he's pretty sharp, accurate, and has a quick release, but I think the thing I like about him is he can move out of the pocket and isn't afraid to flat run over a defender.

That was quick. I hope we don’t just cut Teddy, there is value there with his contract. Plus we need a second round pick to make the Darnold trade make sense.

Like it. Bpa at #8. Not a bad deal. Let him back up/compete w teddy. Learn n not get pummeled.

If he doesn’t develop, our bad. Got a fifth year option. 2 years to try. Sit a bit, learn, n take ur shot. Will have a better roster n better organization than jets by far.. intangibles are there. How’s he do when he’s running for his life less? Less.

We start with a qb competition.

Not sure I like this. Seems like we now have four #2 QBs. But I'll admit I'm like 007 in that I haven't paid attention to him until now.

Can he succeed? Will he... hopefully we have a lil preseason. Gotta sign that fifth year option or not first of may. If we don’t waste of draft picks. hope he’s the next delhomme!

We signed the option. We have 2 years. Hope he does well. He’s lowered risk, high reward kind. Hope he works out.

Best thing that happens is bpa @ 8. T, CB, lb, s, dt. Whatever they want. Hope we don’t draft need. If pitts is there, take him. He’d be bpa. Best player available. Best tackle, CB, S, dt, lb, whatever’s the best one.

First 3/more go qb, we will get a steal @ 8.

With all the teams jumping up in front of us (they are still speculating on the Patriots trying to move up for a QB), there might not even be a QB available when we pick, at least not one worthy of a first round selection.

A few have mocked Mac Jones at #8, and if that happens, I'd be perfectly happy with that pick. I think that long-term, Mac Jones is going to be the most successful quarterback from this draft class.

Hmmm......

Quote:[/url] [Image: CAR.svg]

Jaylen Waddle WR

Projected Team
Carolina
PROSPECT RNK
8th
POSITION RNK
2nd

They got Sam Darnold and now they're going to build around him. Yes, cornerback or offensive line make sense here but there's not much experience after Robby Anderson and DJ Moore so Carolina opts for Jaylen Waddle, the most explosive player in this draft class.

CBS Sports seems to think it's a possibility.
