The latest information available seems to indicate that JayCee Horn will have surgery on Tuesday on his right arm. Exactly "where" the break is located will probably determine what happens after that. According to Wilks, JayCee will be evaluated after surgery to determine if it is possible to return to play this year. Everything depends on the evaluation of the "Ortho" doctors and the Panthers training staff. As we are all aware, it IS possible to play through this type of injury. The Panthers have precedent for this just a few years back when Thomas Davis broke his arm and returned to play quickly with a reinforcing splint and wrap on the broken arm. So, it could happen.....
However, a CB uses his hands a LOT. It seems as if it would be very difficult for a DB to play effectively while wearing a "club" of some sort over his lower arm and hand. AGAIN..... Wilks said that the determination would be made after surgery by the Ortho doctors and the training staff, but that Horn's return might be possible. We will know more on Wednesday.
PANTHERS WIRE: JayCee Horn Surgery Tuesday--Uncertain Future For Rest Of Year
A good stiff cast would make an excellent ball bat lol

Yeah... It really would.!! Have to wonder though.... How much additional weight that cast/club would add to an arm. After playing awhile, would it slow you down..?? Would it stop you jumping as high.?? Affect your overall reach..?? Stop you from 'catching' (intercepting..) the ball.??
Has to have an effect. And not a good one, obviously. JayCee has had an "eventful" first two years. Hopefully he can recover and continue to play well. If not this year, then next year and the following ones as well.

As a Gamecocks fan, I am happy to see Jaycee on our Team. As a Panthers fan, I worry that this might be a trend. It's like with Dan Morgan; hard play results in hard injuries. But that hit really didn't look all that bad, just a freak accident at a weird angle.

I hope that’s not true 007, but it’s the second year…

So, the Wednesday reports are in and Coach Wilks has advised/announced a little bit of what the future may hold for JayCee Horn. According to Wilks, the surgery was very successful and a determination about Horn's availability will be made in "10 to 12 days". So, we know Horn will miss this weeks game against the Bucs, but he MIGHT be able to play some against the Saints in the last game of the season.
I would imagine his playing status in the Saints game will depend on the Panthers success (or lack of success..) in this weeks game against the Bucs. If the Panthers lose, there will be no urgency in the Saints game, so I would expect Horn to be held out of that game. If OTOH the Panthers WIN against the Bucs, I would expect Horn to make a push to play at least SOME against the Saints.
I just watched Coach Wilks presser from this afternoon and he said Jaycee had surgery yesterday and will be evaluated in "ten to twelve days". That doesn't sound anything like "prior to the Saints game", but he wouldn't say the "P" word lol

Yes.... Wilks doesn't commit easily to anything. I read between the lines and check dates on a calendar. And since he DID say "...ten to twelve days", that could very easily be before the Saints game. If you evaluate at ten days....that could be Thursday--Friday next week. Twelve days would push it out to Sunday probably, so that would make the Saints game improbable.
As I said up there ^^^, I THINK what happens in the Saints game will be largely dependent on how the Panthers fare against the Bucs. That's what I think, but.....
Who knows... It's all just a guess.
