Word on the street is Kirk Cousins is looking to be traded. He's unhappy about being unseated as the starter in Atlanta. The Falcons have named Penix as the heir-apparent to the starting QB job. --- Honestly, this makes me sort of happy. The Falcons were 8-9 last year and Cousins led them to jump out quickly to a 6-3 start. When Penix started playing they pretty much folded and won only two more games, ending the season at 8-9. The verdict is still out on Michael Penix, but I think I'd rather face Penix than Cousins.!!

According to league sources, Carr is dealing with a shoulder injury that could threaten his availability the upcoming season. The injury was not a surprise to either the Saints or the 11-year veteran. Both parties are weighing their options, including the possibility of surgery.

Carr’s 2024 season, his second with the Saints, ended prematurely due to a fracture in his non-throwing hand. He also missed time with an oblique injury and played just 10 games. The Saints were 5-12 last season but 5-5 when Carr started, as the veteran passed for 2,145 passing yards, 15 touchdowns and five interceptions.

The Saints signed Carr to a four-year, $150 million deal in 2023, with $60 million guaranteed. According to OverThe Cap, Carr’s contract is a $20.4 million cap hit for the Saints in 2025 and a $69.2 million cap hit in 2026; the void years on his deal stretch from 2027 through 2029.

The other two quarterbacks on New Orleans’ roster, 2023 fourth-round pick Jake Haener and 2024 fifth-round pick Spencer Rattler, combined to go 0-7 in relief of Carr. Rattler finished 0-6, completing just 57 percent of his passes for 1,137 yards, four touchdowns and five interceptions.

New Orleans holds the No. 9 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, and four of its nine picks sit in the top 100.

Moore is young at 36 to be a Head Coach. But he is not the first young HC in the league. Current Eagles HC, Nick Sirianni, whimpered after the Super Bowl win while 'begging' Kellen Moore to stay around for another year. Moore, however, decided the time was right and jumped ship for the Saints when they offered him the chance.

Although it's not official, the Rams are said to be seeking a trade partner for Super Bowl, Pro Bowl, All Pro WR Cooper Kupp. Kupp was drafted by the Rams in the 3rd round in 2017. He has played exclusively for the Rams and has enjoyed a great career.. Kupp helped lead the Rams to a Super Bowl title in 2022. He is 31 years old.

Cooper Kupp announced on social media that the team (Rams) had notified him that they would be trading him this off-season. The trade would come with two years remaining on his contract worth about $20 Million per year -- unless his contract is re-negotiated. His new team would be responsible for those two years, including roster bonuses and base contract monies.

This is another example of an 'aging' but still young player looking down the barrel of an unknown future.

It's official I guess.... Matthew Judon has been traded from the Patriots to the Atlanta Falcons. In the middle of a contract dispute, Judon apparently decided to rebel and refused to sign a contract extension offer from the Patriots.

Judon played in only four games last year, but gathered in four sacks (one per game..!!!). In 2021 and 2022 he collected 28 sacks while playing in all 17 games each year....

Judon has been traded by the New England Patriots to the Atlanta Falcons. The Patriots are receiving a third-round pick from the Falcons in return for the four-time Pro Bowl pass-rusher, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

The trade of Judon seemed inevitable after reports over the last few days indicated Judon, who turns 32 on Thursday, was limited to four games last season after he suffered a torn bicep early in the year. He still managed to accumulate four sacks despite his limited playing time.

Judon was arguably New England’s best defensive player in 2021 and 2022, totaling 28 sacks across the two seasons while appearing in all 17 games each year.

Judon is set to earn $6.5 million this season in what will be the final year of his deal. The Patriots had offered him an extension this offseason, but it apparently was not to his liking. It remains to be seen whether the Falcons will be giving him a contract extension."
