Greg Olsen may be listed as the No. 2, but his ambitions are still firmly set on being No. 1.

The Carolina Panthers legend, fresh off his second consecutive Sports Emmys win, appeared on the Front Office Sports Today podcast with Owen Poindexter on Thursday. Poindexter asked Olsen about his reassignment from FOX’s top broadcast team to their second, due to the arrival of seven-time Super Bowl champion and three-time MVP Tom Brady.

“My goal is to be the best,” Olsen said. “I want our crew to be seen as the best, and it’s not just about me—it’s about my partner, our sideline analyst, our production team, our truck, our producer, our director, and everyone involved. I’m very passionate and competitive about this. When I was part of the No. 2 crew before, I always aimed to be No. 1.”

“My aspirations remain to be a No. 1 analyst, whether at FOX or elsewhere,” Olsen added. “That will never change as long as I’m in this field. I’m not just content with being here; I want the top position. I’ll always strive for that, and I feel more motivated now than ever.”
