OK..!!

I hope we end up around #10-12. We have two more games to win. That should give us another downward bump.

Actually, I would like to see us around #5. Then we could trade that pick for ... say #17 plus another 2nd or 3rd rounder...

ACTUALLY, actually -- I put very little stock in the draft helping much in the 1st year. Still, young talent is nice to have to start getting some seasoning in..... SO, whatever we end up with will be fine.

GO DAN...   Yourock Celebrate

Rather be building a culture, get some wins, and get guys on the roster feeling positive.  Draft more about getting the right guys.  Coker was undrafted,  Mahomes was drafted at 10.  Puka Nacua went in round 5.

Demand Richardson helps the s room going forward.  Only s under contract next year.  He’s played well

Building the d will b tough.  Dan can do it.  Oh, release Dane Jackson, please.

Yes, LP --- Well said.

A rebuild is an ongoing thing. A team is constantly in a state of "flux". It's like a giant cauldron. It's always seething, gurgling, rolling. Add ingredients, mix well. Try it. Dilute a little, Add flavoring. Let it cook and season. Add new ingredients. Rinse and repeat. It's NEVER in a "final form". Always a moving target.....

The key is LP's "culture". A team forms a nucleus around which a culture is born. A solid mix of veterans to show the way and a "culture" rises from the ashes like a giant Phoenix. The rookies fill in spots and smooth off the rough edges, until they take the place of a veteran and another player steps up. A team is constantly evolving. We need to have the right guy with a firm grasp of the principles and concepts to lead the way. I believe Dan Morgan is that guy....

Well I have to admit that the way the team is playing, obviously building chemistry with each other, we're heading in a positive direction. We do need to be very specific during the Draft and/or Offseason; there areas of need we cannot overlook before next season.

Well.... We will be, uhh.... 6-11.??  Is that what you meant.??

I suspect you were referee-ing to Draft position. Which of course will require me to go make a search for my other pants -- where the crystal ball resides.
BUT... If i were to hazard a guess, I would think a 6-11 record would put us around #9 or #10 --- Maybe.??  Let's see. There will be 14 teams (including wildcards) in the playoffs. So that covers Draft positions #19 to #32. There are also 7 more teams that are already at 7 or more wins that WILL finish above the Panthers (because the Panthers can get to a max of 6 wins). So that covers the top 21 teams -- Draft positions #12 to #32.

So with the top 21 positions already committed by W-L records, there remains only 11 positions left,  One of which belongs to the Panthers. The Panthers are CURRENTLY at #8 (tie). So the top of Draft Order looks like this right now.

1) Giants      2-13
2) Patriots     3-12
3) Jaguars     3-12
4) Titans       3-12
5) Browns      3-12
6) Raiders      3-12
7) Bears         4-12
8) Panthers     4-11
8) Jets            4-11
10) Saints       5-10
11) 49ers        6-9

What does this mean.??  Well, it might still be possible for the Panthers to end up with the #1 pick if they lose the final two games. It would depend on the tie-breaker formula AND all of the teams that are currently ahead of the Panthers (positions 1-7) winning their remaining games. VERY HIGHLY UNLIKELY..  OTOH... It's also possible for the Panthers to end up at #11 (depending on tie-breakers) if the 49ers lose out, the Saints lose 1 or 2 and the Jets  lose at least 1 (once again depending on tie-breakers).

The tie-breaker formula. If multiple teams are tied based on final W-L record, then the order is determined by a team's 'strength of schedule'. Tied teams are positioned in order based upon the average W-L record of the teams they faced (their opponents). THEN... If two or more teams are still tied after the 'strength of schedule' calculation, then position is awarded based upon their W-L record against Division or Conference opponents.

So... based upon the scenario proposed by FC.....  If the Panthers win their final two games;  It looks like they would probably end up between #8 -- #11.  --- BUT:   Ahhh, those pesky other teams and those pesky tie-breaker rules..!!!
