I was a 49ers fan for more than two decades before we got the Panthers in Charlotte.  If the Panthers leave the Carolinas, I'll go back to the 49ers.

As far as college teams, I am a huge Gamecocks fan.

I was a 49ers fan since I first started watching football.  Then came (as you mentioned) Joe Montana and Jerry Rice.  I was stationed in the Army out near Fort Ord at Defense Language Insitute during those golden years and it really sealed being a fan for me.  I was watching when Montana broke his leg, and then came Steve Young.  Not a lot of dropoff.  Those were the Football Days for me.

I was a Redskin's fan before 1995. It was easy to drop them with the birth of the Panthers.

I guess we all know,, at some point every team hits it's record lows. We are there. I thought the 1-15 year was it, but we've topped that, with back to back to back all time lows. 8 years of bad football.

And we all know, one player can change our fortunes .. Usually a QB . Having a top 5 running back or receiver, won't send a team to become a winning team.

We have our own first round draft pick in the next draft . Along with 8 other picks. 6 picks in the first 5 rounds. This could be the start of a great rebuild year. We don't have to take a QB at number 1 pick ,, we have so many needs..

Here it is Oct 28th and I've thrown in the towel and trying to get excited for our up coming draft.
