Just to be clear...
I am
NOT saying that Levis is going to be our pick. I am also
NOT saying that he
should be. I fully expect either Stroud or Young to be the #1 pick. My personal choice would be Stroud, although Young has some traits that can't be ignored.
Here is the way I see it. The Panthers (Fitterer, Reich, & McCown mostly...) are doing their "due diligence" for this first-level pick. To arbitrarily rule someone out because of a facial twitch or frown or whatever, is just silly. After watching the vids, I saw Levis make some throws 'on the move', clean and smooth, several of them going left 'against the flow', 30 and 40 yds down field. I suspect that no other QB in this draft is capable of making those throws with that ease (IMHO). This dude has an arm, THAT is for certain. What that means exactly, for his draft position, ....eh, I don't know.
THIS, however, I DO know. There are four QBs on this list, five if you count Hooker. Only ONE will be selected #1. So whatever you say about Levis as being "NOT the guy", you can also say about three or four others. The biggest drawback about Levis (his production) is instantly understood when you realize that he was not surrounded with the talent at Kentucky that Stroud and Young were at OSU and Alabama.
I fully expect Levis to perform well as a starting QB in the NFL. (Maybe..??)..
