WEBSITE ISSUES - BEING WORKED ON BY WEB HOST

Hostgator.com, whom I purchase web hosting thru, is researching the problems the site has been having the past three days.  I host several other websites on this account and they have problems too.  The Technical Support Specialist I spoke with today (after several days of getting the run-around), informed me that the issue was in their web server, which I told them day before yesterday (trust me, I'm the Operations Lead Engineer for an Enterprise Data Center with several thousand servers).

At any rate, I've been trying to get on her and post something, but it wouldn't even let me in my admin Cpanel.  

So, hopefully they have it resolved.  The site seems to be loading pretty quickly and I'm not getting those errors anymore.

EDIT:    AS SOON AS I TRIED POSTING THIS.... THE ERROR CAME BACK.  I'm working on getting them to fix this crap!!!

YUP... This is the first time today I've managed to "break" into the forum. Took 8 tries. Now I can't get back to the Forum Home.  May have to close out my browser... SMH...

Sometimes "Help" makes it worse

I have spent countless hours this week with Hostgator Tech Support (don't even get me started). Then they moved the site to a different server without telling me so I did not update the Domain Name Servers information, and the site went invisible today. I didn't know until an hour ago (9 pm ET Saturday)

At any rate, I did a bunch of updates to the server end myself, including upgrading the PHP Version to the latest version (it was wayyy out of date), then updated the Board Software, then I started having issues with the Shoutbox, so I realized it wouldn't work with the new PHP version, so I found there was an updated version for the new PHP software, and downloaded and installed it.

So far, so good (knocks on wood!)

(ps: You will notice the Shoutbox looks different now, but it seems faster)

I noticed that the forum went completely "dark" earlier.  Something about "unable to locate domain' -- or something like that. Figured you were on the prowl and would figure it out. --- And I was right.!!  You did it.!!

The forum actually loaded up first attempt. No real issues tonight (It's currently 4:30 AM, Sunday..). Hope everything continues to perform like this for awhile. Well, at least until end of season.... Or longer.... Maybe forever more..??

You're right though, the Shoutbox REALLY IS different. I was lost for a second... until I discovered it was inverted top for bottom. Maybe other changes too. Haven't really examined it too closely....
